The Pursuit of Happiness
Have you ever known a person that just had a magnetic personality? Some people just have a gift of infectious, positive, personality that makes draws you to them. Maybe you are that person. If you are not this person you can release the happy hiding in you.
We live in a pretty negative world. Most of the news that surrounds us is about sad world affairs that bring spirits down fast. The knack to begin a happier person is by being a happier person. ”Fake it. Pretend self-esteem,” says David G Myers author of The Pursuit of Happiness: Discovering the Pathway to Fulfillment, Well-Being, and Enduring Personal Joy. He further discusses how experiments have proven that people who act as if they are exceptional will later express more self-esteem.
Think about a baseball player. They have to practice being a ball player. They go through the motions, hit and catch balls, doing the stuff that they will do on game day. That’s what people have to do with their own being as well. You’ve got to practice how you want to be so you can be it. If you want to be a singer you sing. With practice it becomes better and easier. A person that consistently puts their thoughts down on paper is a writer. Lace up the sneaks and go for a run on a routine basis-you’re a runner. If you want to be fit and healthy then you must live a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Repetition breeds habit. If you feel like you are being phony, remind yourself that you are in practice. Don’t give up on your self, you deserve to prepare for what you want. You can learn to have peace and happiness by practicing it. Surround yourself around the magnetic, happy people that inspire you to be the same uplifting person. Give it a chance, change doesn’t happen overnight. -ed
