Please Hurry Patience
The coined phrases “patience is a virtue” and “good things come to those who wait” must have come from someone pretty mellow. Being mellow does not come easy for me. When I get excited or passionate about something I want action and I want it yesterday. I don’t like waiting.
My impatience isn’t because I feel that I am a priority over anyone or anything else; but it is because a period of waiting allows too much time for my mind to lose enthusiasm or let negative thoughts creep in. However, just as thinking positive takes practice so does developing a patient persona. It also becomes easier in time.
While I am not always the most patient person, I am persistent, which is a synonym of the word. So is endurance, and I’ve been known to endure some pretty trying situations from time to time. Sometimes a word and the definition that someone gives it can weigh heavier than the action that gets attached to it. What is most important is the way we represent our self overall.
If you are patient and unkind then what’s the use? If you are in a rush but spread joy shouldn’t that be admirable? I want to be around he people that make me feel good and who encourage me to be a better person. Then I can spread a positive personality to other people. Why would I want to wait for that? -ed
